On June 3rd, we will be walking with our friends and family in the Take Steps Walk for the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation. We continue to walk to help find a much needed cure for Crohn's and ulcerative colitis. Our goal is for Rachel to see a pain free future ahead and we would love your help!
Take Steps is the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation's largest event dedicated to finding cures for digestive diseases. It is a casual 2-3 mile inspirational walk to raise money for crucial research and support for the over 1.6 million American adults and children affected by these digestive diseases.
WAIT!! DON'T STOP READING YET!!
Your donation will help with so much. This cause is very important to our entire family and we appreciate your help as we battle this disease. Since our walk last year, Rachel has tried a couple of new medications. One medication was not effective, but it takes months of trial and waiting to find that out before starting all over again, and once again going through months of waiting to see if this medication is the one. November brought on the start of a new medication just approved for the treatment of Crohn's and we are pleased so far with the results. Research is what determined that this medication, originally developed to treat another disease, could also help patients with Crohn's. While we are so thankful for this, medications come with risks and side effects. The real answer is a cure, and we are actually getting closer.
In addition to donating, please join us on this walk! The walk is on a Saturday morning on the Boston Common. There will be food, music and many teams with so much spirit. You don't even have to walk, just find a bench and be part of the amazing energy.
Please help us and join our team, or donate to our efforts to support the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation in finding a cure.
Thank you for caring,
