  • Local Hero
  • Local Hero

Every year Take Steps Western Washington chooses an honored hero to lead the way on our journey to walk day. Honored heroes use their story to raise awareness of these diseases, raise funds in support of the Foundation’s mission, and inspire hope to those living with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.

This year we're excited to have Ethan Roberts (age 13) and Noah Roberts (age 10) as our co-honored heroes! As brothers, Ethan and Noah have many things in common including a love for soccer, track, swimming and video games. But they also share one more unique brotherly trait that strengthens their bond...they both have Crohn's Disease.

Thousands of volunteers have helped the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation  work toward our mission to find cures for Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis and to improve the quality of life of children and adults affected by these diseases. Without our volunteers, we would not be able to provide a high level of support, education, research, and resources to our IBD community.

We need lots of volunteers to help make Take Steps Western Washington come to life! There are year-round opportunities to get involved.

  • 10th Anniversary
  • A Decade of Difference

Even before launching in 2008, patients and families from across the country have been walking to support the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation. Since its launch in 2008, Take Steps has been a powerful force in connecting the patient community and accelerating crucial research into the causes of IBD. Because of the dedication and commitment from more than 300,000 walkers, Take Steps has raised more than $85 million for research efforts.
