Hey Everyone! I am Nadia and some of you may already know my story of my journey with Crohn's Colitis from my Youtube Channel or UCVlog.com - but for those of you who don't let me share?
In 2007 I was diagnosed initially with Ulcerative Colitis. Most of my disease was generalized in my colon and rectum but after further testing, I was told there were signs of the disease in my small intestine and stomach. So I was given a diagnosis of Crohn's Disease. Needless to say, the disease progressed to the point where I was no longer able to function. I was unable to attend most of my last two years of high school as I spent a majority of time in the hospital. Even basic everyday tasks were nearly impossible. On the cusp of colon cancer, doctors felt that there was no way to hold off any longer. I nearly died. I lost my entire large intestine and my rectum. I lived with an ostomy for some time. I now have a reconstructed internal J-Pouch. Now my prognosis is improving. The doctors to this day have not given me a clear-cut diagnosis so they term me A Crohn's Colitis Patient. Everyday I fight. I have Great days, Good days, Tough Days and Rough Days, but through it all I try to live life with a positive attitude. I am still plagued by setbacks and hospitalizations but am taking strides and am improving each day. I am definitely a fighter! I am attending college to study medicine and hope to one day help others like me. This disease has stolen too much from me, but it has not defeated me. At present, there is no cure for this. Help me fight to find a cure. There are over 1.4 million people who are afflicted with this illness. Each dollar goes to help research this disease which has devastated so many like myself.
