Wow 43 days left until our Marathon. Today I ran a half marathon as a "training" run and PR'd . I did a run/walk and was able to succeed. It has been tough going due to a nagging foot issue but I think I'm back into a normal routine.
This will be my last post. If you are able and wish to help us find a cure for Crohn's I would be grateful. I think back when the disease was con trolling my life; now I am in control.
Thanks again everyone.

I want to dedicate this post to family. Why you ask..... they support me every mile. Sometimes away for hours doing training or traveling to a race or two. Maureen is very patient, willing to have dinner on the table when I return. She sort of knows I am very hungry when I return.
I am trying real hard to mentally handle being out there for a few hours running alone. The great thing about running you always see others and they are always giving you support by saying hi, or shouting out "great job", or just a simple nod.

BAM... hit it
The week of my Birthday I made my minimum goal. I was the lucky winner of a grant from our Marathon group. I don't want to stop there.
Yesterday I took a nice, quiet 4 mile run after work. I started thinking about how long I have been dealing with Crohn's and how lucky I am to be able to do what I do today. Over 45 years .. way more than half my life I have been dealing with it. To be able to run for hours is a great feat considering in the 80's I could not make it from home to work without stopping. Long car rides were out of the question unless I knew where restrooms were along the route. So the money we raise for my Charity can help another person or even a young child. So I ask you give what you can. So again thank you to those you have helped. Enjoy your day!

To date I am only 180.00 away from my goal. Over 36 people have helped and I am so grateful. 2017 has been challenging for my training. A couple minor injuries that have healed; now a medical issue that is keeping from running for a bit. My running friends will support me all the way. But anyone that knows me I will come back. We have many weeks to prepare so soon I get stronger I will start over. With Jeff's encouragement and support on race day we will cross the finish line.

Our weather in Rochester can be challenging. This weekend was one of them. Saturday was cold and wet and Sunday was sunny and mild so I enjoyed a couple hours on trails with friends. It felt really good. Some set backs with minor injuries but will work through them.

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone that have donated to our cause. Training is going well. Today I participated in an indoor Tri with some friends. It was pretty tough but fun. I guess it was better than running outside in 6'F.

Where have the years gone
Hello! I'm Frank- a runner, a grandpa, a devoted safety professional, a loving husband, a volunteer firefighter for over 40 years, and someone who has lived with and battled Crohn's disease since I was 12 years old. My health is better than it has ever been so I want to help those who continue to battle.....
I'll be running the Chicago Marathon on October 8, 2017 as part of Team Challenge for the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America, raising money to further research, improve treatments and work towards finding a cure for Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. These debilitating diseases affect over 16 million Americans. Your tax-deductible donation will not only help fund critical research but also help sustain support programs for those who are struggling with the physical and emotional toll of living with Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis.
Please join me in striving for a cure by donating to my fundraiser. Thank you for your support!

Well it started
This weekend I put in 17 miles. Split between roads and trails. I paced our Saturday group; really nice to be back pacing and today I ran trails with some good friends. Laughed for miles and talked about the usual...food, and anything else. Time flies by when you make a run enjoyable.
