Welcome to My Personal Page
My youngest daughter, Victoria, was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis when she was 13. Since then our life has been permanently altered. We appreciate all the medical staff who have gone out of their way to help, but there is no cure for her disease. Victoria relies on medications that are not formulated for her disease; the medications were formulated for other diseases but just happen to "help" her with treatment. I want to live in a world where there is a cure for this, because no one should have to go through what Victoria has persevered. That is why I have set an audacious goal of fundraising $40,000 to develop medications that are created specifically for the needs of Crohn's, Colitis and IBD.
I won't tell you when we first noticed she was sick, or her missed days of school, or how she has adjusted her schedule to accomodate this disease. But I will tell you that she is a tenacious young lady who pushes the limits of physical strength. She has a great purpose in life and is moving forward everyday believing that those who study these diseases are as passionate about their work as she is about hers. We must empower those researchers with the funds needed to be successful as they formulate new medicines.
I have decided to make a difference in the fight against Crohn’s, Ulcerative Colitis and IBD. On July 16, 2017 I will participate in the 1/2 Marathon with Team Challenge. As you may know, my children have all ran cross country and track, but previously my running experience was limited to running from point to point on race courses to cheer for them. So for me this will be a big undertaking, but it will all be worth it because your donations will not only motivate me to the finish, but they will help us get closer to the cure. Won’t you please consider a donation today? Join me, be a part of the solution.

If you have friends or family who also have this disease let me know. I will be wearing the names of ALL the people you share on race day.

About Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis
Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis are both major categories of Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD). IBD affects an estimated 1.6 million Americans. These chronic diseases tend to run in families and they affect males and females equally. Crohn’s disease is a chronic inflammatory condition of the gastrointestinal tract and may affect any part from the mouth to the anus. Ulcerative colitis is a chronic inflammatory condition limited to the colon, otherwise known as the large intestine.
The Mission of the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America is: To cure and prevent Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis through research, and to improve the quality of life of children and adults affected by these digestive diseases through education and support.
