Evelina2017 PEDIATRIC HONORED HERO - Evelina Maria Caruso

"This year will be my 3rd Take Steps walk. The walk helps me to know that I am not alone and that there are other kids with IBD. It is hard being a kid with Crohn’s disease. I don’t always feel good or have energy. My Crohn’s disease won’t stop me from trying and doing my best. Cheerleading and dance classes are what I love to do to stay active."

2017 ADULT HONORED HERO - Cailin BurkeCailin

"I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis (UC) in November 2013. Without funding for research and patient resources my story could have been very different. We cannot fight this without you! I have chosen to do all I can do take control of my disease and not let it control me. Fundraising and participating in Take Steps is something I can do – and see the impact we are making!"

Without our volunteers, we would not be able to provide a high level of support, education, research, and resources to our IBD community.
