At 7 years old, a kid just wants to be a ‘kid’. Andrew loves to annoy his older sister, lives and breathes hockey and enjoys competitive swimming. Currently, he plays goalie for his mites hockey team, the Hershey Jr. Bears and swims for the Devon Crest Gators. Last year, Andrew was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease. Andrew and his family have recognized that appearances can be deceiving. Crohn’s hides its destructive nature on the inside of the body. Andrew, John and Lindsay are very thankful for the medical research supported by the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation that enables Andrew to carry on. The Moawad family is very grateful for the support of the local Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, and are happy to give back. They are truly humbled that he was selected at the 2018 Honored Hero for the Philadelphia/Delaware Valley chapter Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation. It is Andrew’s family’s plan to use that as a catalyst to help raise awareness. Please help the Moawad Family to reach their goal, fight this battle, find a cure and win!

Thousands of volunteers have helped the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA) work toward our mission to find cures for Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis and to improve the quality of life of children and adults affected by these diseases. Without our volunteers, we would not be able to provide a high level of support, education, research, and resources to our IBD community.
