Meet Your Pediatric Honored Hero- Lindsey Golotko

    Lindsey Golotko Take Pic

Hi! My name is Lindsey Golotko, and I am proud to be the 2017 CCFA New Jersey “Hero” for Monmouth and Ocean County. I’m currently a junior at Freehold Township High School, and my goal is to raise an unbelievable amount of funding for CCFA that will help to find a cure for this disease that I have to live and deal with. I am a normal teenager and like to spend time with my friends, watch Netflix, and participate in all of the other normal activities teenagers enjoy, except that I have Crohn’s disease.    read more

I am honored and humble to be nominated as "Hero" for the NJ Chapter 2017 CCFA Take Steps Walk with my younger 'hero' Lindsey Golotko.

Crohn's Disease challenged me throughout my life. Diagnosed in my early thirties, disease was labeled Ileitis. Former President General Ike Eisenhower was the only notable individual, to identify with this debilitating illness. A Former President of the United States was my role model.

The only medication available to treat Crohn's Disease was Prednisone. The drug is a steroid that leads to bone loss, tremendous weight gain and other major side effects too many to mention.   read more

If you wish to be a future honored hero or know someone who would be a great representative of Take Steps, nominate them from the Take Steps homepage.

Thousands of volunteers have helped the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA) work toward our mission to find cures for Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis and to improve the quality of life of children and adults affected by these diseases. Without our volunteers, we would not be able to provide a high level of support, education, research, and resources to our IBD community.
