  • Local Hero
  • Maine Honoree:  Nicole Edmunds

    Nicole Edmunds pic.jpg

Nicole is a local middle school teacher at Spruce Mountain in Jay.  Nicole was diagnosed at age 31 and has been walking to raise cures since 2011.  Nicole not only works every day educating and inspiring our youth, but works a second job as a manager at Calzolaio in Wilton and helps with local athletic programs. Nicole is a true inspiration to her family, friends and co- workers.  Nicole was our top individual fundraiser in 2016, raising nearly $6,500!

    Pediatric Honoree:  Evan Yale

    2017-02-08_1442.png

Evan Yale is an adventurous young 10 year old that was recently diagnosed with Crohn's disease.  Although he missed months of shcool and sports, he isn't letting his disease hold him back!  Evan and his family formed "Team Evan" to participate in the 2017 walk and are on the move to find cures with the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation!

Thousands of volunteers have helped the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA) work toward our mission to find cures for Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis and to improve the quality of life of children and adults affected by these diseases. Without our volunteers, we would not be able to provide a high level of support, education, research, and resources to our IBD community.
