Lincoln Welcomes Disney Espen Turek as our 2017 Honored Hero!

Disney is 11 years old and in 7th grade at Good Shepherd lutheran School. Disney has a huge imagination and loves reading, writing, history, magic, riddles and video games. Sometimes its been very difficult for Disney to have the energy to do all the things that he loves as Disney was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease in August of 2013. Originally his Crohn's was mistakenly misdiagnosed as allergies, and then when correctly diagnosed doctors struggled to find a medication the would get Disney into remission.  He has been on Apriso, Mercatopurina, Remicade, and Prednisone in addition to having a feeding tube for 10 months that only allowed him to eat 100 calories a day by mouth. He is currently been on Entivio for the last 8 months and while it has been difficult, Disney is able to rely on the love and support of his family and friends. So please join Disney on walk day in support of fellow IBD patients and caregivers!

  • Volunteer

Thousands of volunteers have helped the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA) work toward our mission to find cures for Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis and to improve the quality of life of children and adults affected by these diseases. Without our volunteers, we would not be able to provide a high level of support, education, research, and resources to our IBD community.
