local hero:Kate and Jackson Moskowitz
While our family is no stranger to Crohn’s Disease, when our (then 2-year-old) daughter, Kate, was diagnosed, it still came as quite a shock. Over the past 7 years, Kate has tried and failed several classes of medications, including infusions, steroids, and several biologics. She has been hospitalized multiple times. While in the hospital, she contracted a bacterial infection called c-diff that was resistant to treatment.
Thousands of volunteers have helped the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA) work toward our mission to find cures for Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis and to improve the quality of life of children and adults affected by these diseases. Without our volunteers, we would not be able to provide a high level of support, education, research, and resources to our IBD community.
