Our Take Steps walks offer a wonderful day for family, friends and the community to celebrate all of the efforts that have been put forth in raising funds towards our mission.  Our walk events are filled with live music, food, kids’ entertainment, educational materials, and, of course, wonderful exposure for our corporate partners.

Take Steps for Crohn’s & colitis is a family friendly community walk dedicated to raising awareness and mission-critical funds for cures for digestive diseases.  In the past five years alone, we succeeded in bringing together over 100,000 people and raised close to $40 million to help further CCFA’s mission. 

Join Philadelphia in 2014 at our exciting new location - Citizen's Bank Park!  All attendees with a wristband (see below for wristband policy) will be given exclusive access to a Philadelphia Phillies Phan experience.  This is an event you certainly don't want to miss!

NEW PATIENTS often find forming a team is a helpful way to make talking about their disease to their family/social circles less overwhelming and isolating.

PATIENTS THAT HAVE BEEN MANAGING THEIR DISEASE over the years find forming a team and participating is a great platform for their loved ones, who often times feel unable to help during difficult flares or disease management, to roll their sleeves up and spread the word in the community, fundraise in their honor, and walk beside one another in a truly rewarding way!

The team's "captain" will work hand in hand with the local Walk Manager every step of the way from setting up the team's fundraising page, setting a fundraising goal, to coming up with email templates and  personalized fundraising plans.


Wristband Policy

There is no fee to register for a Take Steps Walk, however, all participants 12 years and older are asked to please fundraise or donate at least $25 (on their personal fundraising page) to recieve a wristband.  Children under 12 will automatically recieve a wristband when attending the event with a fundraising adult.  Wristbands entite participants to enjoy the free food, entertainment and activities of the Walk festival. 


Offline Donations

As we continue to fundraise in the months and weeks leading up to Walk day, you may recieve donations via check or cash.  Please mail these donations into the chapter office and the Walk Manager will post them directly to your fundraising page within one week of recieving them. For cash donations, please convert this into a check - do not mail cash.  Please also make sure to include the walker's name on the memo line of the check whom you want the money credited to.

Post-Walk Fundraising Incentives will be available approximately 21 days following the Walk.  Should you qualify for a post-walk incentive, look for an email from

Frequently Asked Questions

Q:  How many people do I need on my team?
A:  A team is two or more people attending the Walk together.  There is no magic number for the perfect team but we encourage you to invite your friends, family and colleagues to fundraise and walk with you. 

Q:  Where do I park? 
A:   Free parking is available for all event attendees in Parking Lot P at the corner of Pattison Avenue and Darien Street.  It is a 1-2 block Walk from the parking lot to enter the stadium. 

Q:  Where do I enter Citizen's Bank Park for the Walk?
A:  Please enter only via the 1st Base Gate on Pattison Avenue.  This is also where you will register and/or check-in for the Walk.

Q:  If I registered online do I still have to check-in?
A:  Yes!  Everyone must check in to recieve your wristband and fundraising incentives. 

Q:  Are dogs or strollers allowed?
A:  Dogs are not allowed inside Citizen's Bank Park, however, strollers or small wagons are allowed inside the park. 

Q:  Will there be restrooms available?
A:  Absolutely! And lots of them!  Restrooms are located throughout the park and will be available along the entire Walk route as well as in the festival area. 

Q:  What if it rains?
A:  The event is rain or shine!

Q:  Where do we Walk?
A:  The entire Walk takes place inside the stadium along the concourse.

Q:  How long is the Walk?
A:  Approximately 2-3 miles.
