The official COUNTDOWN to the 2014 Miami Take Steps Walk has begun!

We are excited to announce that Downtown Miami will be turning ORANGE and BLUE for Take steps starting Friday evening! Our special guest, Tim Hardaway, Sr. will be helping us flip the switch and light up the iconic Miami Tower in our colors in honor of Take Steps. Make sure to check out our beautiful Miami Skyline and feel proud knowing how much progress we've made in raising IBD awareness throughout our community!

Make sure to get your team members registered before the walk to make the check-in process easier. Also, if you have any donations you've collected, please mail them into the Florida Chapter office at the address below, or bring them with you on Walk Day!  Remember, we require one donation per walker, in order to qualify for a wristband. WALK DAY DETAILS

Click here for more information on our Walk Day Activities, including information on our wristband policy and our FAQ. Registration will begin at 9 AM and the walk will begin at 10:30 AM. We ask all walkers to check in at the Registration Booth to check in and pick up their incentive coupons. The first 500 registered walkers will receive a goodie bag! Please arrive before 10 am to avoid long lines and make sure you enjoy our fantastic Walk day activities. 

PARKING

Parking is NOT included. There are various public parking lost near the park. We have also arranged for a $5 flat rate at the College Station Garage (190 NE 3rd Street Miami, FL 33132). Please click here or the image below for a detailed map

We will be walking approximately 1.25 miles along Biscayne Bay. The wlak will start and end at the ballon arch near the children's playground in front of the Tina Hills Pavilion. Meet our Local Honored Hero!

Who is your Hero? Who do you walk for? The Take Steps Walk is all about  honoring all of those who are dealing with the constant daily struggle that exists with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. Our local honored hero serves as a representative of all patients who are waging their courageous battles with these chronic diseases, working to increase public awareness and understanding. We are proud to announce this year's Honored Hero, Alina Suarez of Miami. Please click on her picture below to read her story and learn more about why she was chosen as our local Honored Hero.

Join us for our Team Spirit Competition on Walk Day! More than anything else, Team Spirit unites a group of walkers as a TEAM the day of the Walk.
