Rock ‘N’ Roll Savannah Marathon & Half Marathon: November 3, 2018
Team Challenge is heading to Georgia! We’ve partnered with multiple Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series® events in the past, and are excited to offer a new option in Savannah, GA this year. Join the team for the Rock ‘n’ Roll Savannah Marathon and Half Marathon, and enjoy a training season that will stretch from summer through fall.
This race takes place on November 3rd, 2018. Participants will enjoy one of the most charming races in the South as they race past Savannah’s many charming manicured town squares, historic buildings, and along streets lined with spanish-moss covered oak trees. The point-to-point half marathon course starts at City Hall before continuing through the historic downtown district and finishing at Forsyth Park. Full marathoners will stay with the half course for the first 11.5 miles, before heading out to take in even more of Savannah, including a loop through the campus of Savannah State University and a portion of historic Daffin Park, before heading back to the same finish line. Those who don’t feel up to 13.1 or 26.2 miles can grab a friend and take part in the half marathon relay, with a first leg totaling 7.1 miles and a second leg totaling 6 miles. Local bands will be featured throughout, playing a wide range of music including alternative, classic rock, punk, blues, and funk to keep runners and walkers entertained.
Outside of the race, Savannah offers plenty of entertainment options for teammates and their guests. The oldest city in Georgia boasts plenty of historic sites, including Civil and Revolutionary War landmarks, as well as a pedestrian-friendly layout that allows visitors to enjoy its quaint cobblestone streets, emerald tree canopy, and beautiful architecture. As “America’s Most Haunted City”, there are plenty of ghost tours for those who want to get a post-Halloween scare, and for those who’d rather relax at the beach, Tybee Island is a short 30 minute drive away!
