Team Challenge is excited to be heading back to Rhode Island, this time for a new race! Join the team for the Independence Rhode Race, voted one of the top half marathons in Rhode Island by the 100 Half Marathons Club.
Located in Bristol, RI, this race takes place just before the July 4th holiday, on June 30, 2018. Participants will enjoy seeing the town decked out in red, white, and blue for the Oldest 4th of July Celebration in America. The course starts on historic Thames St. in downtown Bristol and leads participants around quaint and patriotic downtown, past festive homes and the America’s Cup Museum following part of the famous 4th of July parade route. The course then heads out and around Bristol harbor, turns through Coggeshall Farm and around the trails and coastal waterways of sweeping Colt St. Park before heading back downtown. The finish line will come into sight against the backdrop of the Mt. Hope Bridge and Narragansett Bay.
Before you leave town, be sure to enjoy all that historic Bristol has to offer! Enjoy music at the Fourth of July Concert Series in the nights leading up to and after the race, take a boat tour of Bristol Harbor and Narragansett Bay, get a history lesson at one of town’s various museums, and of course, don’t miss out on some of that famous New England seafood!
