Annual Gala Evening at the Movies November 30, 2011
Celebration Cinemas Grand Rapids NE, MI.
Honoring Justin Gray
The Movie Gala event began in 1985, when the founding group members saw a need to develop an annual fundraising event, to bring together patients, families and community and corporate leaders sharing a cause. They then created what has come to be known as the CCFA Gala Night at the Movies. The cause was simple to bring financial support to our mission. (Mission Statement: To cure Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis and to improve the quality of life of children and adults affected by these diseases.) Over the years the event has grown through a dedicated group of solicitors who solicit the community for presentation pages in the Evening at the Movie's Gala Journal program. The event will be directed by a committee of interested patrons, board members and corporate sponsors. The event opens with a standing reception at 5:30 p.m. Many patients, individuals, corporate friends and pharmaceutical companies celebrate and participate in this festive occasion, highlighted by a standing reception with hot finger foods, a balloon pop for valuable prizes, and a special program presentation honoring a community member for outstanding achievements or service to CCFA . The event has a Community Corporate showcase, where a corporation will be highlighted for their outstanding achievement or support of CCFA. The evening closes with event participants viewing a film of their choice. The Evening at the Movies has attracted over 400 attendee’s and raises over $40,000 through corporation and individual sponsorship and patronage.
