Hear from our California Camp Oasis participant, TJ Chiello...
"I love camp because it is a place where I know I am not alone. Everyone knows how it feels having Crohn's Disease, so when you have to go to the bathroom they don't look at you funny. They know how it feels to take medicines and be in pain. Camp is a place we can all forget we are sick, make new friends and have fun!" -TJ Chiello
Those cells are the bacteria and viruses that make up the human microbiome. CCFA’s research has identified a link between IBD patients’ genes and the composition of their gut bacteria. This can lead to new strategies to treat and prevent IBD.
