Denver Pediatric Event Recap
Despite a tornado warning earlier in the afternoon, we had a great presentation by Dr. Ed de Zoeten at Presbyterian/St. Luke's Medical Center on May 22nd. Dr. de Zoeten spoke about various treatments for children with IBD as well as psychological issues and growth concerns associated with these diseases. This presentation marked the first time the Rocky Mountain Chapter was able to stream an education event live using GoToMeeting.com and it was a huge success. We will continue to make more of our education events available with this format so that we can serve a wider array of CCFA members.
Please note that this presentation was also recorded and is still available. If you would like a copy e-mailed to you, please contact Emily Curtis at email@example.com.
Casper, Wyoming Event Recap
The Rocky Mountain Chapter held its first patient education event in Casper, Wyoming on May 29th, presented by Dr. Bill Shear from Wyoming Medical Center. Please contact Emily Curtis at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in attending or getting the group started.

Check out the amazing generosity from a wonderful 14-year-old, Rachael Saghi:
"My name is Rachael Saghi and I am 14 years old. Around 10 years ago, my brother was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis. He has stuggled with this disease ever since. My adventure started when I saw the CCFA newsletter. It talked about some runs going on to raise money for the CCFA. I wanted to do a run but could not since there was not one in Colorado. I was upset by this but determined to help my brother. This is when my mom suggested that I do my own run for charity. I would run and raise money based on pledges I received from family and friends. I ran over a period of six weeks, running a total of 73 miles. I raised $2,400 and am very proud of this accomplishment. I am thankful that my family has so many caring and generous friends and relatives willing to help. I did this to benefit not only my brother but everyone else who suffers from these diseases. I want you to know that there is something we can all do. For me it was an activity I hate, running. For you it may be as simeple as doing a lemonaide stand. There is hope if we all work together."
The Crohn's and Colitis Foundation is honored to have Rachael's support!!
