A Word From Terri

me photo

I've been involved with CCFA for the past 2 1/2 years, first as a volunteer, then as a staff member.  It is with mixed emotions that I share news of my resignation.  I plan to stay actively involved with CCFA.  As the parent of a child with Crohn’s, I will stand with you, working toward a world without digestive diseases.

I attended my first Take Steps Walk in 2009 at Progressive Field.  I remember being so impressed by the teams of patients, families and friends dressed in brightly colored team t-shirts.  What moved me the most, was the large group of pediatric nurses.  It was such a meaningful experience and helped me and my family to realize that we were not alone.  That day I decided to get more involved with CCFA. .

Over the years, I have met many wonderful people who have become a support network for me. and my family  I am grateful for all of the dedicated volunteers, interns, committee members, board members, doctors, and nurses I have met at our programs and events. I have learned so much from all of you and only hope I have been able to support you as much as you have supported me.

Next week I will be leaving my position at CCFA for a new job at Akron Children’s Hospital.  While I could not be more supportive of CCFA’s mission, I believe this new position is more in line with my public health training and long-term career goals.

Since I first got involved with CCFA as a Take Steps committee member, it will always have a special place in my heart.  I hope to see you on June 23rd at Take Steps Cleveland.  This will be my eighth Take Steps walk!  This year our goal is to raise $156,000.  We still need your help to get there!  It’s not too late to fundraise, visit www.cctakesteps.org/cleveland to register.

Thank you to everyone for supporting my family and I and for your involvement with CCFA! I have enjoyed working with and getting to know you.  I vowed five years ago to do everything I could to help find a cure and my committment continues.

All my best,

Terri Lowe-Donovan
