Our honored hero, Jake Russett, is a 16-year-old sophomore at Shakopee High School. Since his diagnosis with Crohn’s disease at age 13, Jake has been determined to maintain an active and “normal” teenage life. After beating back his initial flare, Jake has maintained well thanks to the help of a great care team and a twice-daily regimen of Pentasa and 6MP.  Jake’s active life includes being an honor student and member of the student council, playing soccer year-round for both his high school and local club, and playing guitar. This summer, Jake’s looking forward to sharing his love of guitar at Camp Oasis, leading a “Learn to Play Guitar” activity for the young IBD campers.
