As inflammatory bowel diseases research advances, so does the need to increase awareness of the importance of clinical trials and opportunities for patients to make informed decisions about enrolling in studies.

The Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America's Wisconsin Chapter is hosting AWARE for All: Understanding the Basics of Clinical Trials, a FREE public education program for patients and caregivers about the clinical research process and common features of IBD studies.

IBD expert, Lilani Perera, MD, Assistant Professor of Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Medical College of Wisconsin, will present a free, informational and interactive program. 

We'll discuss:

  • Clinical trials: how they work and why they are important
  • Safety, benefits, and risks of clinical research
  • Common features of IBD studies latest developments
  • Questions to ask your healthcare provider before participating in clinical research
