The Crohn's and Colitis Foundation
The
Crohn's and Colitis Foundation is the only national nonprofit,
voluntary health organization dedicated to the fight against Crohn's
disease and ulcerative colitis collectively known as IBD. Our mission
is to cure and prevent Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, and to
improve the quality of life of children and adults affected by these
diseases.
What are Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis?
Crohn's
disease and ulcerative colitis are two separate and distinct diseases.
They share many of the same symptoms, which range in severity and are
often debilitating for patients, greatly altering their quality of life
and often resulting in surgery. More than 1.4 million Americans,
including 150,000 under the age of 18 suffer from these diseases.
